Ukrainian Refugee Crisis
Global health disruptions have continued to emerge in the 21st century that threaten populations and environments on a grand scale and in real time, ranging from the extreme weather events of climate change to the much too frequent and destructive social conflicts between nations and peoples.
The current war being waged in Ukraine is resulting in unconscionable loss of life, homes, families, towns and cities, while collapsing the socioeconomic infrastructure of an entire country and creating an unprecedented refugee evacuation crisis.
The Institute for Global Health and Health Policy (IGHHP) is partnering with the efforts of Jeff Schrager, an American Airlines pilot, and his colleagues who are currently evacuating Ukrainian refugees fleeing the war into Poland. He is paying for much of this out-of-pocket, and IGHHP is working to assist in raising the funds needed to meet the costs of this humanitarian outreach. Thus far, arrangements have been made to deploy a full-sized 52 passenger bus and two 7 seat vans for evacuee transport to safe shelter in Poland.
To help with this targeted relief effort, please see Jeff’s gofundme page. Or you can make a tax-deductible contribution by clicking the DONATE button below through IGHHP. IGHHP is a U.S. federally-incorporated tax exempt 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, authorized to receive tax-deductible charitable donations. 100% of donated funds will be applied directly to logistical expenses for safe evacuation of Ukrainian refugees into Poland by Jeff and his colleagues. A receipt for your donation will be sent to the email address provided. Thank you for your help!
