Ukrainian Refugee Crisis

Global health disruptions have continued to emerge in the 21st century that threaten populations and environments on a grand scale and in real time, ranging from the extreme weather events of climate change to the much too frequent and destructive social conflicts between nations and peoples.

The current war being waged in Ukraine is resulting in unconscionable loss of life, homes, families, towns and cities, while collapsing the socioeconomic infrastructure of an entire country and creating an unprecedented refugee evacuation crisis.

The Institute for Global Health and Health Policy (IGHHP) is partnering with the efforts of Jeff Schrager, an American Airlines pilot, and his colleagues who initially began after the war started by evacuating Ukrainian refugees fleeing the war into Poland.  As the refugee crisis has waned, his group has expanded their size and scope to focus on improving delivery of humanitarian aid into Ukraine by networking local Non-profit Organization (NGOs) and grassroots Community-based Organizations (CBOs) together to foster collaboration and cooperation with one another in order to help them be more effective in performing their missions even to the “last mile”.

This effort is called the Ukrainian Coordinated Aid Network or U-CAN for short.

To help U-CAN with this targeted relief effort, IGHHP is committed to serve as the 100% passthrough fiscal agent whereby 100% of any donated funds received by IGHHP on behalf of U-CAN will be applied directly to Humanitarian Aid to benefit Ukraine and Ukrainian refugees by Jeff and his colleagues. You can make a tax-deductible contribution by clicking the DONATE button below through PayPal (using a PayPal account or a credit card). IGHHP is a U.S. federally-incorporated tax exempt 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, authorized to receive tax-deductible charitable donations.
